Through a fun and impactful two-night event, the Eminence Kids Foundation first brought nearly 30 Eminence volunteers to a local culinary school in Vancouver, The Dirty Apron. Here they were led through an evening of chopping, dicing, and cutting organic ingredients to make three delicious soups; a Vegetarian Minestrone, a Chicken and Grilled Corn Chowder and a Chicken Noodle Soup. Led by a talented local Chef, the volunteers finished the night with over 150L litres of soup placed into individual, family-sized containers to later be enjoyed & eaten by children undergoing treatment at the British Columbia Children’s Hospital and their families. A special thank you to Pro Organics and Avalon Dairy who donated the organic ingredients needed to make these nutritious soups.
The following night, the Eminence Kids Foundation and 9 Eminence volunteers hosted a “Family Dinner Night” at a long-term care facility in Vancouver. Bringing the fresh organic soups, organic buns, and organic juices, they spent an evening giving these families a night off, where they simply enjoyed a homemade, organic meal being served to them and some good company. Housing over 70 families with children undergoing treatment at the BC Children’s Hospital, the Eminence team welcomed over 30 of these families to enjoy a nice home cooked meal and decorated the room with bright balloons, teddy bears for the kids and upbeat music to create an atmosphere of fun.
