Victorious!

On Sunday, June 4th, a group of dedicated athletes within our Eminence Organics spa family led by Spatec’s Monica Helmstetter, joined forces to achieve greatness on two fronts: They competed in Victoria’s Half Ironman, and they used this inspired event to raise funds for Eminence Kids Foundation. The group’s goal was $10,000, which would be earmarked to sponsor a brand new location in the U.S. They reached their goal at 3pm PST on the day of the race, making crossing the finish line that much sweeter a victory for all!

“3 years ago, this was just a dream with one location,” says the President of Eminence Organic Skin Care and Eminence Kids Foundation, Boldijarre Koronczay,  “and now this will be the 5th location which will serve organic meals to sick children undergoing treatments in hospitals to help them in their recovery.”

It Takes A Village… And Incredible Endurance

Monica formed the #spaspushinglimits Facebook group and invited over 200 skin care industry friends to join and train for the Ironman 70.3.  The “70.3” refers to the total distance in miles (113.0 km) covered in the race, consisting of a 1.2-mile (1.9 km) swim, a 56-mile (90 km) bike ride, and a 13.1-mile (21.1 km) run. Each distance of the swim, bike, and run segments is half the distance of that segment in an Ironman triathlon.

The day after the race, Eminence Organics hosted a 3-hour tour of Vancouver on a fun trolley to celebrate (and recover). The #spaspushinglimits team was invited to the Eminence Organic Skin Care central office, followed by dinner at the iconic Cardero’s with a breathtaking view of Stanley Park and the sunset over the water.

The Eminence Organics “Spark”

Eminence Kids Foundation is a cause very dear to the Koronczay family, and they are deeply honored and humbled by the commitment, teamwork, time, energy and passion that everyone displayed, both in athletic achievement and also in generosity for the shared mission to provide children with organic nutrition.

Monica’s leadership was truly inspirational as she championed this dynamic group (many for their first triathlon) and made it a fun, memorable event that also supported this worthwhile cause. “It just goes to show there is no fire without a spark,” Boldijarre said as he proudly watched the Eminence Organics athletes cross the finish line on Sunday, “Thank you to Monica for being that spark.”
