HANK, our beloved Eminence Kids Foundation mascot, has been dragging his paws a bit this fall. With school in full swing and the hours of daylight waning, HANK’s energy levels are dipping. HANK puts in a full day at school, then heads straight to sports practice. When he gets home, he is hungry and tired — and, still has homework looming. Organic fruit and vegetable smoothies helped HANK’s body recover and restore when he was training for the triathlon last spring. He relied on a smoothie every day of his training, so he knew they’d be beneficial during his busy, fall schedule. After sports practice, HANK enjoys a yummy, organic smoothie and relaxes for a bit with a book or music. This smoothie rejuvenation has become a favorite part of HANK’s day!
HANK’S Energy-Boosting Organic Smoothie
makes 2 servings
1 sliced organic peach, including the peel
1/3 cup organic blueberries
1/3 cup organic strawberries
1 peeled organic banana
1 rough chopped organic carrot
½ cup organic vanilla yogurt
8 large ice cubes
Place all ingredients in blender and mix until smooth. Pour into your favorite cup. Add a colorful recyclable straw for fun sipping and to avoid the berry seeds. If fresh ingredients are out of season, frozen organic fruit works wonderfully as well.
